On behalf of the 2025 Scientific Planning Committee of the Canadian Geriatrics Society (CGS), we are pleased to announce that the Call for Abstracts for the 44th CGS Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) is now open!
The ASM will be held May 29-31 in Toronto, Ontario, at the Westin Harbour Castle. The theme of the 2025 ASM is “Enhancing Care for Vulnerable Populations: Addressing Challenges and Equity in Canada's Healthcare System.”
At the end of this conference, participants will be able to:
evaluate emerging models of care to improve quality of life for frail older adults;
describe health inequities experienced by marginalized older adults with frailty and identify opportunities for improvement; and
appraise the evidence and accessibility for dementia care, including recent novel treatments.
Abstract Submission Guidelines
Abstracts must contain original material that has not been published prior to the 44th CGS ASM.
Encore abstracts will be accepted as long as they have not been previously published.
All submissions will be reviewed for quality, relevance, and merit. Please ensure that your abstract does not contain spelling, grammatical, or scientific errors, as it will be reproduced exactly as submitted. Abstracts will not be proofread.
Abstract submissions will be accepted only through the online submission platform.
More than one topic/theme is allowed per submission.
Text only: upload of graphics, tables, images, etc., will not be accepted.
The total length of the abstract (background/purpose, methods, results, discussion, and conclusion) should not exceed 250 words, not including the title and authors.
Please note that the CGS will not accept abstracts that are still in progress without completed results. If your abstract is still in progress – please consider submitting the following year!
Once the online submission has been successfully completed, you will receive an immediate automated confirmation of receipt.
All abstracts will be peer-reviewed.
